It may have taken them some time to assert their dominance, but the Bulldogs’ consistency in an underperforming NRL West saw them reclaim the conference title for the first time since 2013.
For the first half of the 2015 season the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs looked to be the best of a badly-performing bunch. Narrow victories coincided with unflattering defeats, but they still managed to consistently remain at or near the top of the NRL West conference table for the majority of the season. While the overall results in the NRL West were disappointing (having only one team in the top eight makes them the worst of the four), the Bulldogs still managed to create a comfortable buffer between them and their rivals as the season wore on.
The Bulldogs stumbled after the State of Origin period, but finished the regular season with a five-match winning streak to reclaim the NRL West conference title by 10 points. It is their third conference championship in five years.
Best win: After almost completing an emphatic comeback against the Sydney Roosters the round before, the two-point victory over the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium in round 22 was huge in the context of their season. It began the Bulldogs’ winning streak that carried them through to the end of the regular season.
Best streak: 5
Conference Record: 4-2
